You Can Help. . .
Many families and especially kids are going to bed hungry because of the poor economic climate in Michigan. Some people are skipping meals and have to rely on local food pantries to subsidize their food budgets. Bescause of the commitment and work of Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan, Hands-On Mission has partnered with Gleaners to fill and replenish their pantries during the summer months. Gleaners is the source of food for the Free Lunch program which is extended from school programs between June and August each year.
We need your help! Our 2012 goal is 3,000 pounds of can and staple food collected for Gleaners Community Food Bank from July 1st to July 31st. Pick-up your box and posters at the June 26th Presbytery meeting. All boxes will be picked up from your Church Office during the first two weeks of August. We will call the office to arrange its pick-up.
