Calvin East Presbyterian Church is the site of W.O.R.D. Reading Literacy Program. The program needs are volunteers to train and serve as tutors, healthy snacks for the children, #2 pencils with non-latex rubber tip erasers, spiral single subject notebooks, colorful two pocket folders, lots of books for all ages with lots of pictures. We prefer new books but gently used ones are okay. Tutors, tutors and more tutors, the more tutors available, the more children can be helped. The reading program runs October to the end of May on Wednesdays from 5:15 pm to 6:30 pm. We are closed for winter and spring breaks, when the schools are closed.
